Appointment Post

This post here is for personal conversations which should happen but one or both of us doesn't want to put up a new post/log and thus we will just thread it out here. This can be used to thread with Saleh anytime and anywhere. This can either be in person (with action), or via the journal's call feature (voice and/or written).

[ Rin is so angry. So angry, so hurt, so confused, and frankly he knows he's not doing anyone any good now, least of all himself and the people he is going to - has to - protect. In light of that, he's wanted to reach out to some source of authority, someone he looks up to for advice... but then he realizes he doesn't even have any of those in Luceti at the moment. Not really. So he reaches as far as he can think, and knows that he did look up to someone in some other life, so he might as well try here.

So he rings Eleanor's journal, hoping she's still around ]

[Eleanor answers after a moment. She's not really used to getting calls.]

...Yes?

Can we. Meet somewhere?

[ Exhale. Try not to be pissed off ]

...Rin?

Ah. Sure. Where are you?

'M just... well doesn't matter. Let's meet up somewhere like- iunno, maybe out at the Tea Place or the playground.

...The tea place sounds lovely, Rin. I just need a few minutes to get dressed and I will meet you there.

[ She's not dressed...?

... Whatever, it's fine. It's later in the day, and he nods to himself ]

Aight, I'll be there.

[Maybe she'd just gotten out of the shower? Or was wandering around her apartment naked? Or was boycotting pants? Not that she normally wore pants. Who knows? Still, fifteen minutes or so later, Eleanor appears outside of the 'tea place' in a swirl of purple ionized energy, dressed in a flowy, ankle-length black skirt and a simple white blouse.]

[ Rin, figuring they would meet inside is... already inside. He's just on on a black T-shirt and jeans, though both of them have minor scorch marks on them as he sits at the table trying to look like he's in control when actually he's still confused and angry and... confused. ]

[Eleanor spots him inside and comes in, sinking down into the chair opposite him.]

...Okay, what's wrong?

I lost my temper really bad a bit ago. ... And I wanted to ask you for some advice about stuff.

[ In the absence of Logan or Ororo or Yukio ( ... ) or the Boss or any other mentor to turn to, he relied on the memories he had of another life. He turned to someone who used to be his older sister ]

[Eleanor blinks at that, and then laughs sort of a...startled laugh.]

I...can't promise to give the best advice on that, I'm...well.

[Her temper had gotten the best of her more than once.]

I'll certainly try, Rin.

I know- I'm probably bein' unfair for asking... [And he sighs ] But thanks for hearing me out.

[ Maybe he should get tea, his throat feels sore. Well, when someone comes over ]

Don't worry about it. [A small smile.] It's what I'm-

[Just then, the waitress stops by and takes their orders.]

I... I don't know tea, I let Shiemi handle that. So I'll have whatever she has.

[ Eleanor, that is ]

[Eleanor hesitates before...]

Two green teas then, please.

[And back to Rin as the waitress leaves.]

It's a rather inoffensive tea, you should like it.

I know what green is... I think.

[ And he sighs. ] Shiemi actually makes a lot of herbal teas, back at the house.

Well, then you should have said something before I ordered. [A small, faintly amused smile, but then she sat up a bit straighter.]

Okay, now talk. What happened?

[ What happened indeed... ] ... I got in a big argument with [ his friend? ... Yeah ] A friend've mine. And I dunno how to feel about all of it still.

[Well this is a lot like pulling teeth.]

An...argument about what?

[ He sighs. He runs his hands though his hair a little furiously for a moment before he pulls back his bangs and then continues ]

The guy thinks the Malnosso are our allies! And... and I guess I didn't know some facts, but the whole thing is just insane, ainnit? Like how can he be so calm about everything like that?! But...

[Well, she wasn't expecting that. Still...]

Has he been here a long time? [She asks the question just as their tea arrives.]

I don't really know, actually, how long he has or hasn't been here. but he's been here a long time, 'cus I've seen him around a lot. But he did go home for a long time in between there too.

Hmm. Well, if he has been here long enough, perhaps he considers this his home?

[It wasn't that hard for her to see.]

In which case, we would all be allied against those cultists, right?

[ Why would you---? ... Some people are dead. Maybe they think it's better. But... ]

No way. He's saved his world a few times, there's no way he'd turn his back on it. He definitely thinks those guys are the enemy, but... no.
