I've heard worse plans.

My idea was to light it on fire
But everybody said I'd get arrested.

Although I doubt they have legal permits to have a building there.

Permits.
Or it has to be illegal
Or they'll sue

None of that matters
We can barely prove these people exist!

You misunderstand.
If we can't prove their existence, if they have no permits to have the building there.
Then there are no legal obstacles in the way of simply destroying the building.
Tearing it down and building something actually useful in its place.

What's to stop them from just undoing what you do?
Maybe even as you do it?
