[It was actually a phone message that came this time. Chloe's voice was haggard, and it sounded like she'd been crying for a while. There was a raw quality to it that was not present normally when she spoke. It was somewhere between resigned and defeated, and she was trying not to sound too desperate.]

Eleanor... can we talk for a minute. [The sound of shuffling.] I really need someone to talk to right now.

[And, even if she was slightly uncomfortable with talking to Eleanor about this because or certain, related issues... she was one of the people that Chloe trusted most.]

[Eleanor didn't get a lot of phone calls, really. Who used their phone like a phone anymore? But she answered anyway, and frowned as she heard Chloe's voice on the other end.]

[There's the sound of muffled talking with her hand over the mic, and then footsteps and a door closing before she returns.]

[You know, it's really unfortunate that things have been the way they've been, mainly because Eleanor doesn't know yet. The fight with Ryoji and the fallout from that has had Yukiko busy as heck. But she hasn't forgotten her bff.]

[Chloe Mental Check List: 1) The world was not crashing into the sun, check. 2) She had been thinking... a lot, and determined a few things about herself, one of which was that she was not good right now solo. She could do it, but there had been nights every weekend when she'd been going crazy, so... check. 3) She'd seriously been staring at the 'unique date spots in Recolle' website for about three days straight now, check. 4) After the flowers, she'd had trouble getting one specific person out of her head, so... check. 5) Single shot of bourbon for courage, check.

She could do this. She still knew how to do this. Oh, who was she kidding? She had no idea what she was doing. But, the instant she'd tapped the phone number in, it was a little too late to go back, now wasn't it? Ring Ring. I mean, if she hung up now, that'd just seem creepy. God, how did people do this normally? Ring Ring... oh god, this was a terrible idea wasn't it? Maybe if she was lucky, nobody was home and she'd get the answering machine and just be able to hang up?]

[When the call is answered there's a brief moment of silence, a distant, muffled curse, and then a thunk as it falls on the floor. Then about fifteen seconds of someone scrambling about before Eleanor manages to scramble it off the floor, slightly breathless as she answers.]

[It's early in the morning, and a video gets sent to Eleanor's inbox, of a little white dog being a cute brat. This wouldn't seem relevant at all, until Togusa's voice can be heard behind the camera muttering, "Daisuke. Come on. Go back to sleep. Daisuke."

There's something a little...odd about the camera angle through it all, though. That's some really smooth camera work. It goes on for a few minutes, and cuts off as Togusa seems to finally relent and get up, and Daisuke trots off towards his food bowl ahead of him.]

And the sight of Yukiko cooking in the kitchen in one of her kimonos. While periodically looking up to quite literally watch the Sound of Music.
